Self Assessment tax return

It is that time of year once again, where all accountants and tax advisers must embrace “the silly season”……that’s right, the final countdown has begun to the Self-Assessment tax return deadline on 31^st January 2021.

Not only does the Self-Assessment tax return need to be submitted by 31^st January 2021, but the balancing payment (plus the first payment on account) also need to be with HMRC by the same date. 

A new addition this year, is that if you have previously opted to defer your payment on account from 31^st July 2020, this will also be due by 31^st January 2021.
